WILLIAM CHAPPELL Obituary

William Andrew Chappell, 85, Lee's Summit, MO, passed away Oct. 26, 2012. There will be a scattering of his ashes at the Unity Village Chapel Rose Garden on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at 11 a.m. Bill was born June 29, 1927, in Kansas City, MO. He was married to Virginia Lee Chappell in 1946. He was a 1944 graduate of Southeast High School and he was an Army veteran. Bill worked as Manager of Engineering at Rival Manufacturing Company until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia in 2004, his parents William and Nora Chappell, his sister Dorothy Metz, his brother Howard Chappell, and son-in-law Dale Redel. Bill is survived by his four children Linda Rae Chappell (Sage Sengbush), Randall Chappell (Becky), Laura Westhues (Gary), and Lisa Redel. Bill was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren: Linda, Burt, Andy, Megan, Nick, Ray, Josh, Marc, and Justin, plus nine great-grandchildren.

I remember 'uncle' Bill and his family's kindness and especially his laughter when we were kids. My dad, Bud Chappell, and Bill were cousins. Bill was a special friend to my dad and am sorry to hear of his passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
