Richard Eugene Duncan, 85, of Kansas City, Mo., went to be with the Lord January 14, 2013. He was born Jan. 24, 1927, in Highland Park, Ill., to Donald and Clara Grace (Young) Duncan and had four siblings. On Sept. 8, 1951, he married Geraldine Edwards. He has a BS from Middle Tennessee State University, MA and EDS degrees from George Peabody/Vanderbilt, and MPS from Loyola. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in communications during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was Director of City Development for Kansas City. After retiring he volunteered more than 10,000 hours at St. Joseph Hospital, and was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, Toastmasters, Knights of Columbus, VFW, More Friends, and Joy of the Lord. He enjoyed golf, genealogy, reading and traveling. He is survived by his loving wife, daughters, Suzanne and Maria, sons-in- law, Michael Norberg and Jeff Lux, grandchildren, Christopher and Katy Norberg, Stephen Norberg, Kathleen Norberg, Angela Lux, Jonathan and Sara Lux, and great-grandchildren, Paul, Anna, and Joshua. Visitation 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at St. Thomas More Church, 11822 Holmes, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.. Interment at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kan. Geri - I'm so sorry to hear about Dick's passing. I remember when we both worked downtown, we would walk to various downtown restaurants and eat and celebrate our birthdays together. Happy Birthday, Dick, and may God give peace to you Geri and all the family.
