To the Fields Family:
My sincerest sympathies and condolences to you during your time of grief. I first met Tom in 2006 when he was assigned as National Account Manager to the EMBARQ account for Securitas. Tom was excellent in this position and over the years he became a very valuable asset to my job responsibilities. Moreover, Tom was a trusted friend and advisor. When I traveled to Kansas City which was frequently, I always spent time with Tom and we dined together. I feel as if I know his “girls” and the grandkids he was so very proud to talk about. He always brightened up when he related details of his most recent fishing adventure. On one of his business road trips, he visited my home in Virginia and we had an enjoyable social evening. My wife and I also met him on business in Las Vegas and we had a wonderful time together. Tom, ever the gentleman, always asked about my wife and extended his best wishes to her every time we talked. We worked together closely for about six years before job changes took us on different paths. I have missed the daily association with Tom. I appreciated the professional relationship we had, his counsel and his support. I eagerly welcomed Tom's friendship and the personal relationship we shared. I am sorry that I did not know the extent of his illness. May you be comforted by the good and pleasant memories of Tom in life. Tom was a genuinely fine man. He had the respect of all who came into contact with him. It was my distinct honor and pleasure to have known Tom during the time our paths paralleled. He left you a fine legacy of respect, dignity and a superior character.
