DEBORAH "DEBBIE" KAY (ROST) MALONE Deborah "Debbie" Kay (Rost) Malone, age 57, of Olathe KS, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, November 6th 2013, after a ten year battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones and Jack, the family dog. Debbie's twin sister Donna was also at her side. Debbie was a twin and the youngest of 5 children born to John and Doris Rost of McIntosh, MN. She grew up in McIntosh, MN, and graduated with the class of 1974 at McIntosh-Winger High School. Debbie worked at the McIntosh Manor Nursing Home during and after high school. In 1984, she moved to Kansas with her husband, Mike, and two children Kris and Casey. Debbie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and found joy in taking care of the ones she loved. She enjoyed working in her yard and mowing the lawn and took pride in her home. Debbie loved balloons, clowns, and dogs. Her dogs were simply family. One of her favorite things to do was a family vacation at the beach. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Doris Rost, and by her brother-in-law, Jerry Lee. She is survived by her husband, Michael K. Malone, daughter Kris Malone, and son Casey (Shannon) Malone. Her two grandchildren, Hailey, age 13, and Chase, age 4. Her sister Janet Lee, of Foston, MN, her sister Susan (Mike) Melby, of Thief River Fall MN, her brother Roger (Marlene) Rost, of Troy ID, and her twin sister Donna (Art) Schlaikjer, of Shawnee KS. She was loved and will be missed by all. I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you. John 14:18 Services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 2:00pm, where the family will receive friends an hour prior to service time. I was so sorry to hear about Debbie. You and your family are in my thoughts. We can only hope ad pray that one day, there is a cure for this terrible disease.
