Emma Thelma Louage, 99, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014. Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Friday, March 28, at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave. Kansas City, KS. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Emma was born September 11, 1914, in Little River, KS to Frank and Hilda Fail. After High School Emma taught all 8 grades in a one room country school house for a short period of time. Next she moved to Wichita, KS and worked for Boeing Aircraft. She then enrolled in cosmetology school in Wichita. Soon after she moved to Hays, KS to pursue her career as a beautician. She meet a handsome, former marine in the drug store and married Vernon. After marriage they moved to Kansas City. She was a cosmetologist most of her life but caring for her family was her #1 priority and her favorite job. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, 2 brothers, 1 sister, best friend Colleen. She is survived by her daughter Beverly (Bob) Cooke, Overland Park, KS, 2 grandsons; Bob (Cathy) Cooke, Jason (Jaci) Cooke, 3 great granddaughters Britney, Taylor and Hanna, a sister Pat (Fred) Barta, sister-in-law Janet Fail, nephews, nieces and extended family.
