TRALLE, MARY ROSE - Raytown  
Mary Rose Tralle, 89, Raytown, Mo., passed away July 20, 2016. Mary was born and raised in West Virginia, one of eight siblings reared by Lee and Lillie Davidson. Later migrated to the Kansas City, Mo., area to become a telephone receptionist operator with Southwestern Bell and Skelly Oil. In 1957, she met and married Tom. Mary is survived by her husband, Tom, daughter, Judi, granddaughters, Dina, Christa, three sisters, Jo, Jeanne, Sue and great grandson, Andreas. Mary was a God fearing, spiritual, beautiful woman and will be missed by many who knew and loved her. VEDROS, ALEXANDER N. - Warrensburg  
Alexander N. Vedros, 88, was born Dec. 10, 1927, in Independence, Mo., and passed away on July 24, 2016, at the Missouri Veteran's Home in Warrensburg, Mo., with his family by his side. Alex was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps. Being an extrovert, he was an amazing salesman, earning the great honor of Salesman of the Year for Smith Grieves. Alex had a rare contentment which gave him an authenticity often not found in others. He always told his sons: "Never back down from a fight, but don't be the one who starts it." Alexander is survived by his two sons:, George Vedros (65) and Nick Vedros (63) of Kansas City; sister, Mary Antos of Kansas City, three grandchildren, and numerous other family members. There will be a private service to immediate family members before the memorial service which is at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 28, at St. Dionysios Greek Orthodox Church, 8100 W 95th Street, Overland Park, Kan. WILLIAMS, RUTH JEAN - Liberty  
Ruth Jean (Beecher) Williams passed away peacefully July 26, 2016. She is survived by her husband, David, who has danced sweetly by her side for 56-years. She leaves behind four children, Dee (Olympia, WA), Douglas (Iowa City, IA/Mendoza Argentina), Cheryl (Will Assel, Cameron, MO) and Mark (Denise Williams Shawnee Mission, KS), a plethora of grandkids and great grandkids, and more friends than anyone can count. She lived a big life, shined brightly, and will be dearly missed. Her spirit is evident in the brilliance of the sun, the gentle breeze felt at dusk, and the sound of children laughing. We will miss her, and hope to honor her bigger than life presence going forward. Visitation at 10 a.m. Thursday July 28, at Liberty United Methodist Church (Rush Creek campus up the hill from Liberty Hospital) where Dave and Ruth have been active members. A service Celebrating Life and Resurrection will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. The family will celebrate inurnment at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family invites donations to Liberty UMC. Emil Yancik, 86, Sugar Creek, Mo., passed away July 25, 2016, 18 days after his wife of 60 years, Mary. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 28, at Nativity of Mary, 10017 E. 36th Terrace, Independence, Mo. A Rosary will be said at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, with visitation following from 6-8 p.m., both at Carson- Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Nativity of Mary Building Fund in his honor. "To make a long story short," Emil was a Korean War veteran who proudly served in the Army. Afterwards, he worked for Falstaff, where he acquired his love for beer. From there he was employed by Daniels-McCray Lumber, and then Payless Cashways from which he retired. Retirement allowed him to enjoy keeping up his impeccable yard and hustling people in pool. He always loved a good polka and would tell his entertaining stories, complete with impersonations to everyone who would listen! He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary and son, Christopher Yancik. Emil is survived by two daughters, Victoria Thompson (Steven) and Marianne Crosson (Trey); two granddaughters, Nicole Steffen (Chris) and Krystal Thompson; and two great-grandchildren, Cody and Chloe Steffen.
