Ervin Linville, 90, Liberty, Missouri passed away November 7, 2013 at Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, MO. Visitation will be 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 10 at Church- Archer-Pasley Funeral Home, Liberty, MO. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 11, at Liberty Christian Church, Liberty, MO. Burial will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 11 at Lewisburg Cemetery, Humeston, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Christian Church. Ervin was born August 31, 1923, the youngest of nine children to Charles Arthur and Cora Elizabeth (Loe) Linville. He was a graduate of Allerton (Iowa) High School. On June 8, 1941, he married Marjorie Eloise Caldwell in Princeton, MO. Ervin entered the U.S. Army on February 20, 1943 at Fort Leavenworth, KS and was discharged as Staff Sergeant on October 15, 1945 at Fort Ord, California. His unit landed in Normandy, France 6 days after D- day. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal while serving in Germany. He was General Sales Manager for 40 years at Guy's Foods, which was first called Guy's Nut & Candy Company and then Guy's Potato Chips. Ervin was an active member of Liberty Christian Church and a former member of Ridgeview Christian Church where he served as Elder for 35 years. For over 50 years he was a member of Ararat Shrine and Masonic Temple 299. He lived in Kansas City and Raytown, MO, prior to moving to Liberty in 1970. Ervin loved country music and baseball. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marjorie in 1991; five brothers, Carl, William, Gerald, Harold and an infant brother and two sisters, Bonnie and Lucille. Survivors include his sister, Dorothy Molleston and husband Reid, San Antonio, TX; daughter, Debbie O'Hara and husband Mike, Liberty, MO; three grandsons, Greg O'Hara and wife Michelle and their children Aidan and Maren; Matt O'Hara and wife Kristen and their children Xander, Eden, Dillon and a son to be born November 12, 2013 and Adam O'Hara and wife Amy, and their sons, Kyle and Nolan and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
