Asta Cesonis, 68, of Harrisonville, Missouri died Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Cass Medical Center, Harrisonville. A Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville with interment in the Orient Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2008 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville with a Rosary at 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church Memorial Fund. Asta was born November 17, 1939 in Sakiai, Lithuania the daughter of Bronius and Ona (Dubinckas) Endriukaitis. On June 24, 1961, Asta was united in marriage to Algirdas Joseph Cesonis in Brooklyn, New York. Asta was employed for the past 12 years as a service desk cashier at Wal- Mart in Harrisonville. Earlier, she was employed for 23 years as a custodian for the Harrisonville School District at McEowen Elementary School until her retirement. Asta was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Harrisonville where she was a Eucharistic Minister and faithfully taught Sunday School for over 20 years. She was a former Den Mother for her son's Cub Scout Pack in Germany. She loved her family and friends dearly. Her grandchildren lovingly called her Nana. Asta was hard working, friendly, honest, faithful and touched the lives of many people. She unselfishly helped family, friends, and strangers in need. Asta had lived in Germany before moving to Harrisonville in 1974. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Algirdas on April 17, 2001. She is survived by three sons, Bruno Cesonis and wife, Jerian, Harrisonville, Missouri, Linas Cesonis and wife, Melany, Overland Park, Kansas, Lt. Col. George Cesonis USA (Ret.) and wife, Anna, Ecaussinnes, Belgium; six grandchildren, Jacob, Tyler, Karsen, Austen, Maria and Cheyenne; other relatives and many, many dear friends.
