SHANNAHAN 1937-2013 Cora Marilyn Huntress Shannahan, 75, passed away August 15, 2013. Graveside services and inurnment will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Shawnee Cemetery, Warsaw, MO. Visitation will be from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Saturday followed by a Celebration of Life Service at Unity Temple on the Plaza, 707 W. 47th St., Kansas City, MO. Marilyn was born September 24, 1937 in Warsaw, Benton County, MO to Charles and Mabel (Cunningham) Huntress. She graduated from Bolivar High School, Drury College where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and received her master's in education from Central Missouri State. She retired after 28 years of teaching at the Belton School District. Marilyn was an accomplished seamstress and a member of Beta Sigma Phi. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mabel Huntress. She is survived by daughters, Sheryl White and husband Joseph, Dawn Brosa and husband Bernard; grandchildren, Dalton and Trevor White and Alexis and Kylee Friderici; brother, Dr. Charles William Huntress, Jr. and wife Annalee (Hughes) and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
