WASHBURN Eleanor Ruby (Carnegie) Washburn, age 84, of Blairstown, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at her home. Her wishes were to be cremated with a Family Memorial Service to be held at her home on Saturday, March 19, 2011, 11:00 a.m. Fond memories may be left online at www.vansant- millsfuneralhome.com. Eleanor was born July 23, 1926, in Ontario, Canada, the daughter of James Corbett and Dorothy (Garnsey) Carnegie. She attended Grindstone Elementary and Clayton High School both in New York. She was married to Col. Neil Washburn, United States Army J.A.G., who preceded her in death. She worked for Marion Labs as a Clinical Technician and for the Civilian Military Security Agency before retiring. She was a Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star Chapter 5, Berlin, Germany. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Sharon Feldman; one brother, Lloyd Carnegie; and one sister, Mary House. She is survived by three sons, William Evans and wife, Joni of the home, Lloyd Washburn of Kansas City, Missouri, and Robert Washburn of Ballwin, Missouri; one daughter, Barbara Sufian of Lawrence, Kansas; two sisters, Emma Zavitz of Brenham, Texas and Joan Roach of Bath, New York; as well as four grandchildren, Valerie Santiago of San Antonio, Texas, Vicky Ryder of Baltimore, Maryland, Eric Washburn and Robert Washburn both of Kansas City, Missouri.
