HAROLD HOSTERMAN

Harold U. Hosterman, 87 of Overland Park, KS passed away July 4, 2013, surrounded by his family. He lived in the Kansas City area all of his life. He attended Troost School, Paseo High School and Kansas City University (now UMKC). Following service during WW II as a radioman aboard the USS Barnstable in the South Pacific, he married Mary Ann Teeple November 26, 1949. She preceded him in death in 1978. He began his business career with the old Barrick Publishing, Co., the The Packer Publishing Co., and retired as General Manager at Vance Publishing Corp. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the tribe of Mic-O-Say. He served as a committee member of the Oakshire Home Owners Assoc, and later as a board member. He is survived by his brother, John R. "Bud" Hosterman (Shirley); by his children, Kathy A. Todd (Robert), Coppell, TX, sons Mark H. Hosterman (Gloria), Stillwell, KS, and Curt T. Hosterman (Kim), Henryville, IN; and six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A private family service was held July 9, 2013 at Mount Moriah Cemetery in KC, MO.
