Jerry D. Beatie age 76, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, at Saint Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born February 5, 1938 in Corder, Missouri, the son of Clyde and Helen Beatie. In 1956, he moved to Kansas City and lived in Independence, Missouri for 30 years before moving to Warsaw in 1988. Jerry was a carpenter and superintendent, building and remodeling restaurants in the Kansas City area. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and living in the Ozarks. He rebuilt old cars and trucks and loved racing super modifies. He also regularly attended the races at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Joycelyn, and a brother Bill Beatie. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Beatie, of the home, two daughters, Geraldine Ann Johnson, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Julie Young, of Urbana, Missouri, three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one sister Mary Ann Braley, and her husband Emmette, other relatives and friends. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to the care of Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw. A memorial service for Jerry will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church in Warsaw at 10:00 A.M., on Saturday, June 14, 2014. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery near Warsaw at a later date.
