LOUIS R. "LOU" GILTNER(1950 - 2014)

Louis R. 'Lou' Giltner, 64, of Blue Springs passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014 in Kansas City, MO. Visitation for Lou will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Good Shepherd Christian Church, 111 SW Woods Chapel Rd., Blue Springs, MO. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Lou are suggested to Good Shepherd Christian Church. Memories of Lou and condolences for the family may be left at www.meyersfuneralchapel.com. Lou was born April 16, 1950 in Pueblo, CO, to Elmer Giltner and Anna Furzi. On December 20, 1983 he was united in marriage to Karen Bedford and she survives of the home. He was a claims adjuster for Veri-Claims, Inc. He was a member of Good Shepherd Christian Church of Blue Springs, and the Blue Springs Elks Club. Lou enjoyed music, NASCAR, dirt track racing, and sports. He enjoyed talking, and never met a stranger. He collected cars, railroad items and sports items. He especially loved his family, his friends, and his God. He read the bible every night. Lou was affectionately known as 'Pops', 'Papa', and 'Peepaw'. He was preceded in death by his mother. In addition to his wife, Karen, he is survived by his children, Jacque Giltner and her fiance, Mark Spires of Tucson, AZ, Duane Giltner and wife Tiffany of Tucson, AZ, and Danielle 'Peanut' Hague and husband Jeremy of Holt, MO; father, Elmer Giltner and wife Mary Lou of La Junta, CO; brother, Vern Giltner of La Junta, CO; sisters Elanna Harger of Stockton, KS, and Margie Kirk of Colorado City, CO; grandchildren, Shealynn Giltner and Rylee Giltner of Tucson, AZ, Karson Hague of Holt, MO, Baby Spires due in October, and Jimmy Maiden of Blue Springs, MO; mother-in-law, Marie Bollinger of Pueblo, CO; sister-in-law, Pam 'Buck' Burns of Pueblo, CO; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
