Mary Reba Upton Ramsey of Shawnee, KS passed away peacefully on April 19, 2014 at the age of 90. She was born to Edward E. "Ted" and Daisy (Mahan) Upton on June 13, 1923 at Theodosia, MO. On November 9, 1940 she married Mearl Holmes of New Hope, MO and to this union their daughter, Linda, was born in Portola, CA. Reba retired from Western Electric after more than 30 years and was a member of Telephone Pioneers. She loved her flowers, watching the birds and squirrels, traveling and her beloved pet poodle, Sugar. Reba was a "people person" who loved being with her family and friends. She is survived by one daughter Linda Holmes Lamphear and husband Bob of Kansas City, KS; grandson Jay Lamphear of Kansas City; great grandson Craig Lamphear of Manhatten, KS; granddaughter Kim Lamphear Ledbetter and great granddaughter Alexandra Ledbetter of Overland Park, KS; and one sister Wilma Fern Upton of Springfield, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward E. "Ted" and Daisy (Mahan) Upton and one brother Paul Upton. Funeral services for Reba will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville, MO with Jim Heaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Lutie Cemetery, Theodosia, MO. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. to service at the funeral home.
