Ned Herbert Rhoades Jr. achieved the goal of his life when he went to see Jesus on November 5, 2013, following a lingering illness. Ned served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Marine Corps. He was a Master Mason of Temple Gate Lodge No. 299 for 57 years. He served many years as a member of the Kansas City Police Auxiliary. He served as a Deacon with First Free Will Baptist Church, Kansas City, MO and First Baptist Church of Raytown, Raytown, MO. Ned worked at CertainTeed for 40 years in maintenance. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ned Herbert Rhoades Sr. and Hattie Crystal Ruth Fraley Rhoades, his brother, John 'Jack' Rhoades and his great grandson Timothy Robert Bogue Jr. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 53 years, Jeanne, his brother Daniel Rhoades, and wife Suzanne, Newark, CA., his sister Margret Strong, and husband Mike, Alton MO., his son, Mark and wife, Brandi, Burlington, NC., and grandchildren, Amber Rose and husband, Darrell, Independence MO., my dear friend Lisa Rhoades, mother of Joshua Rhoades, Raytown MO., and Cayla Rhoades, Houston TX., and Zachary Rhoades, Quentin Rhoades, Dawson Rhoades and Zoe Rhoades, Burlington NC. A service celebrating his life and his entry into heaven is scheduled for Veterans Day, Monday, November 11th at 11:00 am at the Abundant Life Baptist Church; 414 SW Persels, Lee's Summit, MO. Visitation will precede the service from 10:00-11:00. Graveside services with military honors will be at Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
