Nov. 5, 1934 - Nov. 4, 2010 Ralph Z. Bernal, Sr., 75, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away November 4, 2010. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, at the Muehlebach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost Ave., Kansas City, where the rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8, at St. Peter's Church, 6415 Holmes Rd., Kansas City. Graveside service and interment will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, at Leavenworth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Crossroads Hospice or St. Peter's Church. Ralph was born Nov. 5, 1934, in Kansas City to Refugio and Elisa (Duarte) Bernal. He graduated from Redemptorist High School in 1953. Ralph enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1953 and was discharged as a Sergeant, after serving three years, in 1956. He later retired from Thomas J. Lipton in 1992 after 36 years and was a longtime member of St. Peter's Church. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Carmen Morales and Alice Bernal. He is survived by his wife, Dolores (Hernandez) Bernal; his children, Ralph Bernal, Jr., Gloria Bernal and David Bernal and wife Shannon; two grandchildren, Roman and Gracie Bernal; sisters, Mary Louis Paredes, Helen Bernal, Henrietta Calderon, Dolores Valverde and husband Robert, Martha Soltero and husband Jose, Margie Garcia and husband Rudy and Teresa Bernal and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to the angels of Crossroads Hospice and the staff of the Greens at Creekside Alzheimer's Unit for their wonderful care that they gave to Ralph.
