RUTH ISABELLE BLUNK

Ruth Isabelle Blunk, 89, of Lee's Summit, MO and a former Brunswick, MO resident died on Thursday, January 02, 2014 at the Benton House, Lee's Summit, MO. Funeral services will be held at the Breshears Memorial Chapel, Brunswick, MO, Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Nathaniel Schwartz of Lee's Summit officiating. Visitation will be at the Chapel, Saturday for 9:30 – 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in the Elliott Grove Cemetery a Brunswick, MO. Ruth was born on July 16, 1924 at Brunswick, MO the daughter of Joseph F. and Mary Lee Johnson McAllister. She graduated from Brunswick High School in 1942 and was married to Anthony A. Blunk on December 14, 1947. Anthony Preceded her in death on April 1, 1996. Ruth and Anthony farmed until Anthony's death. She had also worked as a Teller at the Chariton County Exchange Bank in Brunswick, MO and for the Kansas City Star as a carrier for fourteen years prior to retiring. She is survived by one son, Glen Blunk and his wife Joyce of Lee's Summit, MO; two grandchildren, Amy Lynne Buhman and her husband Chris of Lee's Summit, MO and Cayla Leigh Malter and her husband Shawn of Malta Bend, MO; six great- grandchildren, Bayleigh Anne, Addilyn Jo and Bryer Anthony Long Malter and Riley McAllister, Caden Christopher, and Liam Pierce Buhman; a cousin Wanda Spurlock of Brunswick, MO; two nephews, Lynn Duvall and Keith Duvall and their families of Madison, MO; and a great-niece Lena Duvall and a great- nephew Stephen Duvall and their families. She was also preceded in death by her parents and on brother, William Franklin McAllister who was killed during World War II. Pallbearers will be Charles Leimkuehler, Howard Johnson, Wayne Bondy, Michael Leimkuehler, Keith Leimkuehler and Stephen Duvall. Honorary Pallbearer will be David McAllister.
