I was sorry to read about Cathy. I knew her from the time she started at Trinity on the Medical Unit. She was a wonderful nurse with a tender heart and a great big smile. She always had stories about her family and especially about Chayot. She was so proud of your accomplishments. Our prayers will be with each of you.

I had the privlege of working with Kathy. Her kindness and compassion were incredible. She took excellent care of one of my daughters in the ER. I also considered her a wonderful friend. She will be missed.

The last time I saw my mom in person on my trip home to Kansas City as she welcomed me at K.C.I. Airport on June 16, 2012.

My mom was the greatest mom a son can ask for.

She gave up so much of herself to serve not only me and dad, but all of the patients she cared for working at the hospitals she was at in Thailand and Kansas City. She was a tough cookie working in the ER her entire career serving patients in their most difficult circumstances but was comforted by her personal care. I can't tell you how many times I'd hear warm feedback (often through cards and letters) from patients she served while working at Trinity Lutheran Hospital and North Kansas City Hospital. She was equally a great mother to those patients as well as our family. She would often come home exhausted but made it a priority putting her patients first before taking her breaks at work.

She also supported me in everything I did, helping to turn my love of weather as a child into my dream of being a meteorologist into a reality by helping me pay for college. She also supported my interest in learning to play the violin, which I still play today.

She also fulfilled her mother's wish to help each of her siblings, who wanted to relocate overseas to the United States, to do so.

Through her actions, she demonstrated what unconditional love really is, to her family, friends and patients.

Chantida (Cathy) will be sorely missed but I'm honored and deeply humbled to be her son reflecting on a lifetime of joyful memories in her legacy. Even though this is a time of grief and sorrow, I'm comforted to know she is resting in her eternal home with God which has brought me peace and happiness.

I love you, Mom. Always.
