I am so sorry I never met the man. I really appreciate his work. My mother got a chance at staying in her house because of his Reverse Mortgage program and the way his employees are trained is a lot more human than so many other mortgage companies. They do the work knowing that they are dealing with people with emotions and needs. This man should have lived a longer life but I hope that his children can continue the same work he was doing and be a great help for humanity.

I had the pleasure and privilege of meeting Mr. Nutter and several of his family members on numerous occasions. I was the Manager of The Lisa Barth Chapel and Nancy Nutter Moore Memorial Garden. I was there when "Buddy" the dog was installed and the garden was named in memory of Nancy Nutter Moore. It was truly a pleasure every time the Nutter family came to visit. Mr. Nutter has been so generous to Children's Mercy patients and families, but after reading his obituary, it is apparent he was generous to Kansas City. What a legend and a loss to our community. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends and to the people of Kansas City.

I am honored to have known Jim over a 15 year period, as one of his bankers. Jim always said that being fair and straightforward, and standing up for the little guy, were the keys to success. With generosity and kindness he lived that philosophy, and proved it to be true, every day. Jim's legacy lives on in all the good that he did and all the love that he spread. He was truly a giant among men. God bless him and the Nutter family.

Mr. Nutter was a generous man, who's giving to the University of Missouri Libraries transformed the student experience for tens of thousands of students. On any given day during the school year, you can walk into the James B. Nutter Family Information Commons, and see one hundred or more students hard at work in space we would not have without Jim Nutter. His spirit will live on through the lives he's touched. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and close friends.

I worked with Mr. Nutter from 1992 to 1996. My heart sank when I heard the news. He was a wonderful man. I remember he would always stop by my desk and give me grief about being a bronco fan. He will be missed.

I'm a former employee at James B. Nutter & Company. When I heard about Mr. Nutter my heart fell to the bottom of my feet. This is not only a day full of sadness, griefing, & tears because everyone in the entire community loved and cared so much for him and felt that he was such a sweet and caring man to his employees and the entire community. I need to send mine and my daughters prayers to his family for their loss at this time. Being, a former employee of Mr. Nutters , I must say he was the greatest and most thoughtful man that I have ever had the opportunity to be employed for as well as the people that were and still are currently employed with the company have got to be the absolute most thoughtful and kind people as well. Just as the community was anytime Mr. Nutter was apart of any of it.
So my prayers are with the Nutter family at this time. Not only is this a huge loss to so many but also a great big huge joy because Mr. Nutter you will always be loved, respected, and remembered through your kind heart you shed onto so many others. He will be in my thoughts and heart FOREVER!!
