HELEN B. HAGEL

Our loving mother Helen B. Hagel of Richardson, TX, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Methodist Richardson Medical Center. A recitation of the Rosary will be held Monday, December 20, at 2 p.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Richardson. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, KS, on Wednesday, December 22. On that date friends may call between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. at Skradski Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Helen's name to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Kansas City, KS. Helen was born in Kansas City, KS, in 1917. As a longtime resident of the area, she was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and later a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, North Kansas City, MO, where she was an active participant in the Altar Society and PTA. She worked as a retail sales person at Harzfeld's Department Store in Kansas City, MO. Between 1970 and 1980 she resided in Waterloo, IA, where she worked at Arnold's specialty clothing store. Since 1999, Helen lived in Richardson to be closer to her immediate family. Helen is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Ambrose E. Hagel; parents, Anna and Nicholas Krall; brother, Nicholas Krall; sisters: Mary Cason, Katherine Krall, Ann Petak, and Mildred Podry. She is survived by her son, Philip A. Hagel, Louisville, CO; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Busch, and son-in-law, Lawrence Busch; Richardson, TX; granddaughter, Lisa M. Spalding; and great granddaughter, Katherine E.
