My condolences to all of you; the family, fellow priests, parishioners and friends of Father Charles. The hearing and deaf communities have both lost a true friend and faithful servant. Father was my pastor and boss for 9 yrs. here at Sacred Heart & St. John the Evangelist. I 'll always be grateful that in God's plan our life journeys crossed. I will remember him most for his humility, gentle spirit and sense of humor. With Sympathy & Prayer, Sister Ann Diettrich, OSB

Father Charles was a very important part of my church life. He gave my sister and I both first communion and confession. He buried my father and joined the celebrants in the burial of my mother, Jeanne Brady. He put a true Christian face on all his offices. He will be missed. My condolences to his family.

Father Charles married my husband and I at St. Joseph's Church. It has been 41 years since he performed the ceremony. He met with us once before our marriage to do counseling and because we lived in Lawrence Ks. at the time, we did not make it back for another session so he waived the other sessions and married us anyway. It was so kind of him and so typical.
My sympathies go to his family. The loss of such a kind soul leaves a big hole when they are gone.

I am so sorry to hear that Fr. Charles had died. He gave me my start in working in the Church at Prince of Peace in the RCIA in 1982. He said find a good person and then leave them alone to do their job. I so appreciated that. My prayers are with the family.

Father Charles will always hold a dear place in my family's hearts. For so many reasons...he truly was a priest for ALL people. From being a rock for my family to lean on when my mother in law was murdered, to our son who is disabled and helped him, stood up for him and defended him to become a contributing member of the church community. Our love and prayers to his family at this time...

To the family of Fr. Charles, I offer my deepest sympathy and prayers. Father Charles was a great priest and very kind. I always enjoyed his sense of humor. I will always remember his kindness to my parents especially in their last days. He came to visit them and bless them. May God bless him now with all the blessings he so deserves. God bless you all. Father Charles (A-Z) as sometimes known, was three years ahead of
me at St. Joseph's Polish School. He came back to the Polish Church
to bury my parents, Robert and Sophie (Szmania) Bukaty, and my
grandmother, Eva Szmania. He never forgot, but always remembered
who you were. He was truly a Man of God. My sympathy to all of the
family. Bernadine Bukaty Nelson
