1927 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
Betty Lou Sousley, 86, of rural Higginsville, died November 15, 2013 at her home. She was born July 22, 1927 in Elwood, IN to John Riffe and Leona Myrtle (Bogue) Davis. She married Clyde Elmer Sousley, Jr. on February 26, 1944, in Elwood. They moved to the farm, between Higginsville and Mayview, in 1953. He preceded her in death March 27, 2008. Betty was a homemaker and was very active in her church, Mayview Baptist. She taught Sunday school, was a Den Mother, and was active in the PTO and Lafayette County Extension Clubs. She is preceded in death by two infant children, Bettina Christine Sousley and John Leroy Sousley; and four brothers, Frederick, Edward, George, John, Rexie Davis. She is survived by: Son: Clyde Daniel "Danny" Sousley and his wife Bindy of Higginsville. Daughters: Lucy Annette Sousley of Higginsville, Deborah Lou Barkley and husband James of Independence. Brother: Reverend Dr. Don Davis of Social Circle, GA, Numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 19th from 6-7:30pm at the Kaiser-Wiegers Funeral Home in Higginsville. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 20th at 2:00pm at the Mayview Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Dr. Donald Davis and Rev. Daniel Stanley. She will be buried in the Higginsville City Cemetery Memorials are suggested to Mayview Baptist Church or the KC Rescue Mission. Arrangements: Kaiser-Wiegers Funeral Home, 660-584-2626.
