Obituary Condolences

Dwight Moody Davis, 91, of Kansas City, MO passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013. Born August 21, 1921 in New Hartford, MO to Lucile and Elmer Davis. A 1940 Middletown High School graduate, in 1942 Dwight joined the US Army and served proudly until his discharge in 1944. Dwight worked 33 years for Missouri Pacific Railroad until his retirement in 1982. A member of Winnwood Baptist Church. As a loving husband, father, and grandfather, Dwight's wisdom, humor, and caring nature will echo throughout our lives. Dad you will be greatly missed. Dwight was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Sarah; a grandson, Mark Davis. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Wanda of the home; 2 children, Steven (Ramona) Davis and Gail (Bob) Balliu; 2 sisters, Marj (Wes) Tennyson and Marian Kumm; 4 grandsons, Shane (Heather) Davis, Titus (Erin), Terry (Jessica), and Jeff (Marisa) Rix; 7 great grandchildren, Emma, Ashley and Dillinger, River, Jude, and Lake, and Cayden; and many nieces and nephews. Services are set for 2 PM Tuesday March 19, 2013 at White Chapel Funeral Home with burial to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. The Family will receive friends from 1-2 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Helen Davis State School, 2900 Scott St., St. Joseph, MO 64507.
