Gene was a very nice MAN. I played golf with him a few times.
I had no idea of how great a football player he was. He must have been a very humble person. I'm glad I did spend time with him.

Coach Roberts was my favorite "coach". I attended Jr. High at Pitcher Fairview in Independence, Mo in 1958-59-60. I continued to reach out to him while I attended NEHS in KCMO. He was a great guy and mentor to all of my male classmates. I would occasionally stop by his home after I graduated and went on to joined the USAF>
