1921 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
James Lester Hackett, 91, of Dearborn, Mo., passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Hillview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Platte City, Mo. A private family service will take place at the Hackett Cemetery in Dearborn, at a later date. The family suggests contributions be given to Dearborn Christian Church. Jim was born Nov. 29, 1921, in Platte County, Mo., to James Robert and Alice Melissa (Anderton) Hackett. He was a lifelong resident of Dearborn and member of the Dearborn Christian Church. Jim was a lifelong farmer in the Dearborn area; and was also employed as a crane operator for the Local 101 Operating Engineers. He married Ella Mae Spiers on Oct. 21, 1950, in Arkansas. Jim was an active member of the Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Camden Point, Mo., and the Plattsburg, Mo., Saddle Club. His true passion was spending time with his family. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two infant brothers; two brothers, Charlie and Jacob Hackett; and two sisters, Loise Lamb and Ruby Liggett. He is survived by three daughters, Deborah Koss, Patti (Jeff) Hale, and Terri (Tim) Wheeler, all of KCMO; sister, Alice West of Weston, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
