JOSEPH DOMINICK Obituary

Joseph Michael Dominick of Carrollton Texas passed away quietly on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, surrounded by his adoring family. Joe, born January 2, 1925, was 86 years old. The love of his life of 62 years, Teresa Dominick passed away suddenly on October 12, 2010. Joe and Terrie lived in Prairie Village, Kansas, Chicago, IL, and Los Angeles, California, before moving to Carrollton, Texas, in 1986. Joe leaves behind "his girls," Sandy Patterson, Vicki Burton, Deborah Dominick and Diane Sanford; his grandchildren, Andrea McCoy, Christy Jahn, Ashley Patterson, Michael Alford, Taryn Burton, Eric Zents, Jennifer Kinser and Nicole and Connor Sanford, as well as ten great-grandchildren. Joe is also survived by his sister, Connie Nordin of California. In his youth Joe was a Golden Gloves Champ. An Army MP, he was proud of his World War II service. Joe was awarded the Medal of Honor, a Good Conduct Medal and five Bronze Stars for his service. He was a hard worker, putting in years as a systems analyst in the computer departments of IBM, Interstate Securities and Sears Chicago World Tower. He ended his career in California working for the City of Los Angeles. In 1986, he moved to Carrollton, His passions were fishing, bowling, gardening and cars. He also loved his dogs, he liked to say, "When you go to heaven. . .you get all your dog's back!". Services were held for Joe Dominick Saturday, January 22, 2011, at Restland Funeral Home's Memorial Chapel with Honor Guard Ceremonies. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) or to Faith Presbyterian Hospice (www.faithpresbyterianhospice.org).
