JUSTIN LEE SISSON Obituary
2nd Lt. Justin Lee Sisson, formerly of Overland Park, Kan., passed away Monday, June 3, 2013, from injuries sustained while serving his country in Afghanistan. Justin was born, July 16, 1989, in Burnsville, Minn., to Kevin Brooks and Phyllis Liming Sisson. He graduated from Blue Valley West High School, Overland Park, in May 2007. Justin then attended Florida State University on an ROTC Scholarship, where he graduated and received his commission as a 2nd Lt. in April 2012. After completing many schools, including the Sapper School at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., and Army Ranger School at Ft. Benning, Ga., he was assigned to the 101st Airborne, Ft. Campbell, Ky. Justin was preceded in death by his two grandfathers. He is survived by his parents, Kevin and Phyllis Sisson; his brother, Ryan; his grandmothers; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family members and many friends who love him. A visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 14, at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, Wesley Chapel, 13720 Roe Ave., Leawood, KS 66224. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, also at the church. Interment will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
