I worked with Mike for many years. He not only was a good guy at work, but we became good friends as well as being what we called brothers of the drum. This is due to we both enjoyed playing drums. He was a great influence in my live as he was for many.

Just found out from Richard Van Dyke about Mike's passing. I grew up with Mike and the Hunter family and spent countless hours in Mike's "penthouse" room listening to music and knocking around on his drums. I was there when he caught a foul ball in his mouth at Roanoke Park, it was a bloody mess walking all the way home with him. I also remember his mother Stella who welcomed everybody. I'm sorry I missed the funeral remembrances. but believe me I will pray for him now. It's been a long time since the last time I met Mike and I often think about him and his work with SNAP. I hope now he has found peace.

Mike I will truly miss you. You were a friend to the friendless. A voice for those who were ignored and you were a fighter for justice when the odds seemed impossible. I lift a special prayer and condolences for the entire Hunter family. May his memory inspires us all to stand for what we believe in, rally our courage when we view injustice and give of ourselves for the betterment of others as Mike so uniquely personified.

Mike was truly a Man of compassion,He was kind and genuine. He loved deeply his friends and family. We shared many stories and many hours of research with our work together . He was my friend and I feel honored to have known him, he will have a place in my heart for many years, a Hero for Survivors of abuse and a Man of integrity and commitment. My deepest hopes for healing to his family.

He was such a fantastic help with the Prairie Village talent show.
I don't know how we would have done it without him.
What a great guy!

He made the decision to act on his beliefs, something that too few do. His life counted. He made sure of that. His love lives on forever. God made sure of that. Peace to you Mike, and thanks for using your time here so well.

My condolences to the extended family of Mike's that I do not really know. Mike was a great guy, and sort of played a big brother roll in my life, as I suppose he did for many. He seemed to have an understanding for many people. I saw him fewer times in recent years, but every time I did, we had a nice visit, caught up and gave each other a hug, and each time seemed like we had just seen each other a few days ago. Healing time is now. His memory and love is still here. Let us not forget.

What will I miss about Mike? So many fun memories, watching him breakout for a long run in grade school football. Watching the first Superbowl in his families TV room. The drives around KC we took in high school. I'll also remember him giving me much needed support when my brother was killed. The way his face lit up every time he saw me. I know how much I will miss him and mourn for his loss. I hope his family knows how much I loved Mike and still love them.

I am very lucky to say I knew Michael but my regret is that I did not know him well. From what I have been told he is the kind of soul we should all aspire to be.

Rest in peace Mike and say hello to all the brothers boys that have gone before you.
