Obituary Condolences

Mildred Julia (Korosac) Mufich, 92, passed away Monday, September 23, 2013 at her daughter's home in Kansas City, KS. The Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Saturday, Sept. 28 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Strawberry Hill in Kansas City, KS. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at Skradski Funeral Home, 340 N. 6th St., KC,KS with Rosary starting at 6:45. Family requests donations in her name to St. John the Baptist Building Restoration Fund. "Millie" was born June 2, 1921 in Kansas City, KS, to Fred and Marija (Stimac) Korosac--both immigrants from Croatia. She was a life-long resident of the Strawberry Hill Croatian ethnic community and St. John the Baptist Church. She was employed by the International Association of Boilermakers, Shipbuilders & Iron Workers' union for over 20 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the St. John's Altar Society and Senior Citizens' groups, as well as the St. Veronika Lodge of the KSKJ Slovenian Women's organization. She volunteered with the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Cancer Action organizations. She was well- known for her strong devotion to her Catholic faith, family and friends, and as a shining example of beauty, sweetness and grace to all who knew her. Preceding her in death were her parents; four sisters: Mary Hrapsinski, Frances Bauer, Genevieve Jasinskas, and Anna Fann; and her husband, Emil C. Mufich in 2004 (nine years exactly to the day). She is survived by her children: Mary G. Vezilich, Seaside, CA., Emil W. Mufich and Linda K. Mufich both of K.C., KS, sister: Bernice Clothier, Apple Valley, CA; four granddaughters: Anne Warner, Denver, CO., Kristina Vezilich, Bakersville, N.C., Millicent J.
