Paul Ellis Toy, 84, met his blessed Lord and Savior November 25, 2013, after finishing his earthly course with joy. Paul was born to Elizabeth and Joseph Toy on March 5, 1929, in Platte County, Mo. He grew up in Weston, Mo., and graduated from Weston High School in 1947. He served in the Navy from 1950-1954 as an Engineman, 2nd class. Paul married Alberta May Perkins on Jan. 7, 1955. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage together. Their favorite places to travel were Colorado and Branson. Paul worked for Besel's Furnace and Air Conditioning for 37 years. Paul and Alberta were faithful members of the body of Christ and worshipped Him through their service to many at the Christian Assembly Church in Weston. Paul served on the board of Christian Assembly from 1955-2012, a 57-year span. He was the song leader from 1955-1992, a period of 37 years. Paul was a Teen Sunday School teacher for 26 years, and also served as Sunday School superintendent. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Farris Toy, Sherman Toy and Calvin Toy, and a sister, Jeannette Emerson. He is survived by his dear wife, Alberta Toy of Weston, his sister, Hazel Russell in Phoenix, Ariz., many nieces and nephews and a host of loving church family and friends. A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Vaughn Funeral Home, 18905 State Route 45 North, Weston. His memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
