ROBERT C. "BOB" PUMMEL

Robert C. Pummel, 86, of Windsor, Missouri, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at the Clinton Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Clinton, Mo. He was born October 7, 1924, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Charles F. Pummel and Florence (Wren) Pummel. On January 12, 1985, in Kansas City, he married Margaret Ann Milburn, who survives of the home in Windsor. Mr. Pummel was a truck driver for Faultless Linen Supply in Kansas City for over 30 years. After his retirement, he drove a grocery bus for John Knox Village for several years, prior to moving to Windsor. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Windsor. In addition to his wife, Ann, he is survived by 4 sons, Greg Pummel, Kansas City, Mo.; Mark Pummel, Independence, Mo.; Steve Pummel, Wichita, Ks; Tim Pummel, Lee's Summit, Mo.; a daughter, Terri Mentzel, Overland Park, Kansas; a step-son, Chris A. Barker, Aransas Pass, Texas; 2 step-daughters, Kathi Diane Hamilton, Kansas City, Mo.; and Jennifer Lynn Adams, Belton, Mo.; a sister, Nadine Wendel, Dunwoody, Georgia; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and 3 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Diane Pummel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 9, 2011, at 9:00 a.m. at the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Windsor. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with a Rosary Service to be held at 6:00 p.m. before the visitation. The family suggests memorial contributions to the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church Building Fund and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
