WILLIAM A. "BILL" TEASLEY Obituary
William A. "Bill" Teasley, 88, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 24, at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave. Kansas City, KS. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the F.O.P. Lodge #4. Bill was born May 13, 1925, in Horton, KS the son of Isham Teasley and Elinor Sewell Gewelke. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Bill worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and as an Ironworker. In 1955 he joined the Kansas City Kansas Police Department and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1992 after 37 years of service. Bill then worked in the security department at Jack Cooper Transport up until this past Monday. He was an active member of F.O.P. Lodge #4, the K.C.K. Police & Fire Retirees Club and a member of Basehor United Methodist Church. Bill loved his family and friends and enjoyed going to Melvern Lake, Grand Lake and trout fishing at Branson. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Eugene, sister, Beverly and a nephew Barry. Bill is survived by his wife of 44 years, Donna M. Teasley, of the home, 4 children and their spouses, Michael and Lori Teasley, Ft. Worth, TX, Kenneth Teasley, K.C.KS, Cathy and Michael Rose, K.C.KS, David and Marcy Teasley, Shawnee, KS, 6 Grandchildren, Sarah, Brandon, Brennan, Bradley,twins Amanda and Kayla, 5 great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Gabrielle, Ray, Jr., Nicholas, Isabella and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves a half- sister, Mary Sue Jones, step-sister Jo Etta Wilt and her husband, Bill all of Alabama, a sister-in-law, Vivian Teasley, Simi, CA and brother-in-law Earl Duane Zutterman and his wife, Geraldine, Basehor, KS.
