Frances Schoneman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 4, 2010.
SCHONEMAN Frances (Frankie) Margaret Schoneman died April 2, 2010, at the age of 95. She was born in Kansas City, KS, on June 25, 1914. Frankie was the oldest of 7 children born to Leon and Florence Miller. Living most of her life in Kansas City, she moved to Lenexa, KS, in 1984. As a young woman Frances was a member of Job's Daughters and the Order of the Eastern Star. During her lifetime, Frances was employed by Armour Meat Packing, Harzfeld's Department Store and North American during the war. After World War II, she was a full- time house wife and mother. During the years her son was in grade school, she was active in the PTA at Eugene Ware Grade School in Kansas City, KS, serving two terms as it's president. She was a member for most of her life at First Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, KS. The most important thing in Frances' life was her family. She had a sunny disposition, a wonderful sense of humor and was able to be happy with whatever came her way in life. She was loved by all those whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, by brothers, Robert and Donald Miller, and sisters, Vivian Dillon and Norma Allbritten. She is survived by her son- "my one and only"- Kent (Peggy) Schoneman; grandsons Michael (Christine DeMartini) Schoneman and Mark (Heather) Schoneman; great-granddaughters, Emily Schoneman and Kira DeMartini; sisters, Opal Doleshal of Olathe, and Geraldine Scott of Lubbock, TX; brother-in-law, Keith Dillon of Olathe; sister-in-law, Virginia Miller of Dallas, OR; as well as many nieces and nephews. During her latter years Frances was extremely fortunate to live in two wonderful facilities- Stratford Commons Assisted Living in Overland Park and Villa St. Francis Nursing Home in Olathe. She made many friends and received wonderful loving care from the staff at both places. During her last week she was equally blessed by the loving care provided by Grace Hospice. Services are private and will be provided by Porter Funeral Home in Lenexa, KS. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa. The family suggest memorial contributions to Villa St. Francis Nursing Home in Olathe, KS. (Condolences may be expressed at: www.porterfuneralhome.com. Arrangements: Porter Funeral Homes & Crematory, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS. (913) 438-6444.)
