Obituary Condolences

David Bengtson, 62, of Independence, MO, died at his home Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 6415 Holmes Rd. Burial will be in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28 at the McGilley Midtown Chapel, where the Rosary will, be prayed at 7 p.m. The family requests contributions to the Heartland Chapter of the American Humane Society. David was born July 23, 1950 in Kansas City, MO, to William and Helen (Westerman) Bengtson. He graduated from Southwest High School and Penn Valley Community College. He was a proud Marine veteran. He was a passionate restauranteur in Kansas City for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, William, Albert and Ray and brother-in-law Mark Hernanadez. David's survivors include two daughters, Laura Fuller (Corey) and Christie Woolard (Jason), both of Denver, CO; brother Carl Bengtson (Kathy), Merriam, KS; two sisters, Jeanne Hernandez, Kansas City, MO, and Jacqueline Thurston (Jerry) of Raytown, MO; granddaughter, Thaeryn Fuller and numerous extended family members.
