1926 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Mary Helen Trowbridge, 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at her home in Edwardsville, KS, in the same house she was born in on July 31, 1926. She was the seventh of nine children born to Walter and Margaret (Clancy) Trowbridge. Mary was a 1944 graduate of Washington Rural High School. She enjoyed a 31 year career with the Kansas City, Kansas Board of Education, first as a secretary and bookkeeper and later as a systems specialist in the data processing department. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church for over 75 years and served in various volunteer capacities including President of the Altar Society. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her eight siblings and their spouses, Agnes Dodge (Art), Leo Trowbridge (Jane), Walt Trowbridge (Margie), Edwin Trowbridge (Ann), Margaret Strohmeyer (Bud), Robert Trowbridge (Georgia), Don Trowbridge (Peggy) and Dorothy Clark (Gene), and a niece, Sandy Lou Trowbridge. She is survived by 25 nieces and nephews and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews. A celebration of Mary's life will be at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS, on Saturday, February 8. Visitation will begin at 9:30am with the Rosary being prayed at 10:45. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30am; Interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Patrick's, Catholic Community Hospice, 9740 W. 87th St., Overland Park, KS 66212, or Sisters Servants of Mary, 800 N. 18th St., Kansas City, KS 66102.
