1932 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Betty Marie Valla, 81, a resident of Kansas City North, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at North Kansas City Hospital. Betty was a life-long resident of Kansas City. She was born on May 30, 1932 and married Leo Bernard Valla in 1954; he preceded her in death. Betty was a committed mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. Betty spent much of her time helping Animals in Need Thrift Store in Riverside, MO, where she enjoyed the company of many friends. Survivors include their seven children and their spouses, Leo Bernard Jr. (St. Louis); Mary Valla (Parkville); John Valla (Kansas City North); Marty and Susan Hurst (Kansas City North); Nancy Valla; Cindy Valla (Parkville); Larry and Debbie Riffle (Kansas City North), and five grandchildren, Billy Crook, Emily Crook, Aaron Simpson, Savannah Riffle, Leo Riffle, and several siblings. Betty spent her life caring for others, from her husband, her children, her grandchildren, siblings, and her cat, Jake. Visitation 1-2pm Friday, February, 7, 2014 at St. Therese Catholic Church, where the Rosary will be prayed just prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at 2pm, with Rev. Joe Cisetti, celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Animals in Need Thrift Store in Riverside, MO, and may be left in care of the Meyers Northland Chapel, 401 Main St., Parkville, MO 64152.
