THEODORE L. KOKORUDA Sr. Obituary
Theodore "Ted" L. Kokoruda, Sr., 90, Kansas City, Ks., passed away Wednesday, February 05, 2014, at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 8, at the Cathedral of St. Peter, KCK. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call 5 - 7 p.m., Friday, at Joseph A. Butler & Son Funeral Home, 19th & Minnesota Ave., KCK, where the Rosary will be said at 5 p.m. The family suggests memorials to St. Peter's School Library, 422 N. 14th, KCK 66102. Mr. Kokoruda was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, KS. As a proud member of the Marine Corps, he served at Guadalcanal during WWII and in the Korean War. He was a member of the Marine Corps Chosin Few, the DAV and was a lifetime member of the VFW. Mr. Kokoruda was a retired Union Pacific locomotive engineer and was a member of the U.P. Old Timers. Mr. Kokoruda was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, in December 2011. He leaves his sons and their wives, Ted, Jr. and Rose Kokoruda, Olathe, Ks and Paul and Kathy Kokoruda, Tonganoxie, Ks., four grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. Arr.: Joseph A.
