LAWRENCE A. RAAB Obituary
Lawrence Anton Raab, 90, Independence, Mo., passed away February 19, 2014. Visitation 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, 10010 E. 40 Hwy., Independence, with rosary recited at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Monday, at the church. Burial following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Lawrence was born Jan. 12, 1924, in Rich Fountain, Mo., to George and Anna (Kloeppel) Raab. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 21. Lawrence worked as a mechanic repairing machinery at Marion Laboratory until his retirement in 1990 and was also a member of the United Ironworkers Union. He was a member of Nativity Parish for over 50 years and belonged to their Over 55 Club. Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Julitta in 2009. He is survived by his son, Charles L. Raab (Monica); four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions to Nativity Building Fund.
