1918 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Alberta J. Wendt, 95, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on February 18, 2014. She was born on July 7, 1918, the daughter of Lon and Pearl Johnson of Kansas City, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Wendt, Sr.; a sister, Aleene Johnson; and brothers, Glenn and Lee Johnson. The survivors include her son Gene (Catherine) Wendt of Leawood, KS; two grandchildren, Wendy (Dan) Stone of Lenexa, KS and Sam (Tanya) Wendt of Leawood, KS; four great-grandchildren, Dustin Abercrombie, Tyler Stone, Taylor Wendy, and Mason Wendt; and several nieces and nephews. Throughout her life, Sis worked in the restaurant industry in and around Kansas City, KS. The visitation will be held at Maple Hill Funeral Home, 3300 Shawnee Drive, Kansas City, KS, on Sunday February 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. The funeral will be at the funeral home on Monday, February 24 at 10:00am with the burial immediately following at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS.
