DONNA M. MOORE Obituary
Donna Mae (Doyal) Moore, currently of Lenexa, Kan., peacefully passed away surrounded by family March 5, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. Born Nov. 16, 1946, in Roswell, NM, to Paul Doyal and Beulah (Sickler) Doyal. Donna lived in Roswell until her family moved to Arkansas City, Kan., in her high school years. She graduated in 1965 from Arkansas High School. After graduation she moved to Wichita where she received her (CLA) Clinical Lab Assistant degree. Then in 1967 she moved to Ottawa, Kan., and worked in the lab at Ransom Memorial Hospital. Ottawa was where she met her best friend, love of her life and "other half" Clinton L. Moore. They were married June 4, 1968. Clint and Donna then moved to the Kansas City area where she worked in the lab at KU Med Center. During this time they were blessed with two children, Clinton Dean and Cheryl. In 1978 Donna returned to school to complete her bachelor's degree. She graduated in 1983 from Avila with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. She then returned to the lab at KU Med and worked for 38 years until retiring in 2011. During her years at KU Med she enjoyed teaching medial students the most. She received several awards for teaching and employee of the year. Outside of work she valued her family and friends the most. She love to travel with her family and friends. Clint and Donna would attend many car show with the "56" Chevy that Clint had resorted. They also were avid Jayhawkers who never missed a home basketball game or attending "Late Night" in Lawrence or the basketball tournament every year. One year they even drove to Pontiac, Mich., for the Elite Eight game that KU played in. Clint and Donna had a love for each other that is once in a lifetime. They passed their love on to their kids. They were a family of when you saw one you saw four. Over the years Donna strength was tested. With the loss of her husband, Clint and son, Clinton Dean. Donna remained strong though her heart hurt with the losses. Donna had a love for her four legged children (Miniature Dachshund) that also helped her through tough times. She selflessly cared for family and friends whenever they were in need or not. She was thankful for everyone who entered her life. She had a smile that could light up a room and a laugh that was contagious. She is survived by daughter, Cheryl (Steve) Garrison; grandchildren, Alex, William and Meghan of the home; brothers, Gary (Peggy) Doyal, Gayle (Anita) Doyal, all from Oklahoma; sister, Debbie (John) Hickey of Derby, Kan.; several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Donna is preceded in death by husband, Clinton L. Moore; son, Clinton Dean, Moore; mother, Beulah Holden; brother, Allen Doyal. Please join us Monday, March 10, at Porter Funeral Home, visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. with the service being at 2:30 p.m. Graveside services to follow.
