BETTY RAE ALLEN Obituary
Betty Rae Allen, 86, Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014 at Villa St. Francis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Monday, March 24, at the Cathedral of St. Peter, KCK. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, KCK. Friends may call 5 - 8 p.m., Sunday, March 23, at Joseph A. Butler & Son Funeral Home, 19th & Minnesota Ave., where the Rosary will be said at 7:00. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Villa St. Francis, 16600 W. 126th St., Olathe, KS. 66062. Mrs. Allen was born January 1, 1928 in Kansas City, Ks., to Lester W. Riley and Julia Hardy Riley. She was a 1945 graduate of Bishop Ward H.S. Mrs. Allen worked for the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers. She was a fierce supporter of her four boys and all their sporting activities. She had a particular love for all things baseball. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Allen in 1994, son, Bobby in 1971, daughter- in-law, Lisa in 2012 and her parents. She leaves three sons, Rick (Deborah), Steve (Elaine) and Neil, her brother, Les Riley (Madelon) and sister, Dorothy Carr (Jim), eight grandchildren and six great- grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
