WILMA D. SCHEERER Obituary
Wilma D. Scheerer, 98, Independence, Mo., passed away March 24, 2014. Mrs. Scheerer was born May 21, 1915, to William H. and Emma (Reiffert) Dippel in Cleveland, Ohio, and had lived there until moving to Lee's Summit, Mo., in 2005. She had been a High School teacher and Elementary School Librarian, retiring in 1979. Wilma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed cooking, traveling, gardening and most of all, her family. She was of the Christian faith and was preceded in death by parents and grandson, Gregory Scheerer. She is survived by son, William J. Scheerer and wife Nancy of Lee's Summit; daughter, Ellen Gauger and husband Michael of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Karen Ninemire and husband Nathan of Lee's Summit, Kimberly McKinley and husband Nathan of New Braunfels, Texas, Brian Gauger of San Antonio, Texas; two great grandchildren, Samuel and Rebecca Ninemire of Lee's Summit; and two nieces, Carol Downs and Janet Perry both of Brevard, NC. Private services will be held with burial in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs, 301 SW Woods Chapel Rd., Blue Springs, MO 64015.
