KEVIN GERARD HART Obituary
1956 - 2014 Kevin Gerard Hart, 58, of Naples, FL, died March 27th, 2014. Born in St. Louis, MO on January 26th, 1956, Kevin grew up in Kansas City, Missouri where he excelled as one of the city's finest high school athletes. A standout in multiple sports, football was his passion, receiving a full football scholarship to Iowa State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1979. He was chosen as a 1st Team All- State Quarterback while at Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, and was chosen as UPI's 1st Team All Big 8 Defensive Back in 1977 while at ISU. Kevin continued his vocation in athletics as owner of Melbourne, Florida's largest health club from 1986 - 1995 before turning to coaching, where he had a successful track record as football coach for Pine Crest High School in Ft. Lauderdale, FL from 1995 - 1999; Pembroke High School in Kansas City from 1999 - 2002; and Pope John Paul II High School in Boca Rotan, FL, 2002 – 2004. Turning to sales in 2004, Kevin rounded out his professional life working for Russell Athletics as one of their nation's top salesmen. However, his greatest joy was his love for God and family. Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 10 years LeAnna, along with children Garrett and Courtney; twin sisters: Mary Klein of Leawood, KS and Micky Clark of Kansas City, MO; and two brothers: Denny Hart of Raytown, MO, and John Hart of Kansas City, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents Gene and Helen Hart of Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the "Kevin Hart Memorial Trust Fund": P.O. Box 7150, Kansas City, MO 64113. Visitation and Rosary will be at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 2nd at Christ the King Church, 8510 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, MO 64114, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Private interment.
