MELBA E. GREGO Obituary
Melba E. Grego passed away peacefully March 28, 2014 surrounded by her family at St. Joseph Medical Center. Melba was born September 18, 1922 in Arkansas and made South Kansas City her home over 80 years ago. She resided at Little Sisters of the Poor since 1994. All who knew Melba saw how she so graciously devoted her life to being a loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend to all that were a part of this incredible woman's journey. Others would often hear her say with pure love and great pride to those she met "I have ten beautiful children, nine boys and one girl." These words were spoken with such admiration and love every time she spoke them. Melba was married to George N. Grego for 61 years before his passing in 1999. She was preceded in death by two sons George C. Grego and Terry J. Grego. She leaves behind eight children John N. Grego, Victor A. Grego, Charles W. Grego, Joseph A. Grego, Ronald P. Grego, Larry D. Grego, Kathryn D. Thomas and over ninety beautiful grandchildren. Melba blessed us all with so many memories and traditions that will live on for many years and generations to come. Family and friends will celebrate her life at Little Sisters of the Poor on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 5-8 PM where the rosary will be prayed at 5:30 PM. Funeral mass will be Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM followed with burial at Mount Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the "Little Sisters of the Poor" at www. littlesistersofthepoorkansascity.org. Arrangements by Langsford Funeral Home, 115 SW 3rd St., Lee's Summit, MO 64063.
