LAWRENCE "LARRY" GRAY Obituary
Lawrence "Larry" Gray, 84, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO (Platte Woods area) passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born September 30, 1929 to Edward M. and Lela (Duren) Gray in Kansas City, KS. On September 6, 1952 Larry was united in marriage to Virginia Lee Camerer. Larry worked as an Electrician at the TWA Overhaul base in Kansas City, MO. He retired in 1986 with over 34 years of dedicated service and was a 40 year card member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Larry was of the Christian faith. He was a World War II Veteran, where he served in the United Sates Army. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two brothers, Thomas and Howard and a sister, Viola. Larry is survived by his two children: daughter, Vicki Porter of Parkville, MO and son, Gary Gray of Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one on-the-way. A committal service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Road Leavenworth, Kansas. Family and friends will gather at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Pizza Shoppe in Platte Woods, MO to celebrate Larry's life. The Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
