Frank Josephson, 88, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away Friday, May 2, 2014, at the KC Hospice House. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 5, at Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Ave. Kindly omit flowers. The family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd, KCMO 64145 or Heart of America Council – Boy Scouts of America, 10210 Holmes Rd, KCMO 64131, hoac-bsa.org Frank was born on Oct. 8, 1925, in Kansas City, Mo., to Minnie Josephson Abrams and Reuben Josephson. He was preceded in death by his parents; aunt and uncle: Edyth and Robert Bloomgarten; cousins: Libby and Caleb Belove. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Rita Josephson; daughter and son-in-law: Nan Josephson and Rick Bailey, Prairie Village, Kan.; stepson and daughter-in-law: Alan and Gosia Friedman, West Lafayette, Ind.; cousins: Lynne and Jeff Greenberg, Wichita, Kan.; their daughter Chelsea Simmons and her son Rhys, Salt Lake City, Utah; and grandchildren, Bryan Bailey, Prairie Village, Kan., and Sebastian Friedman, West Lafayette, Ind. Frank dearly loved his family. He and Rita traveled as much as they could and made many long lasting friendships along the way. He was very involved in Boy Scouts, became an Eagle Scout in 1939, was in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and was a Scout Master. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science in math from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. Frank had a kind heart and a great sense of humor and will be missed by many.
