1964 - 2014 | Obituary Condolences
James A. Cardell, 50, husband of Mary K. Cardell, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2014 after a long, valiant fight with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 21 years and their 2 wonderful sons, Matthew and Michael and his 4 legged furry kids, Whiskers, Oreo, Pumpkin and Jesse-all who will miss him greatly. Jim dearly loved his family. He was a gentle, loving, dependable, solid man with a strong faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is preceded in death by his mother Ruth; father H. Bruce; brother Ken and sister-in-law Connie. He also leaves behind his sister, Karen; brothers Dave and Bill (Christy); and 4 nieces and 3 nephews. He was born on January 30, 1964, in Troy, New York and in 1966, his family moved to Overland Park. He attended SM South High School and Kansas University. He has been employed with NBRC/AMP for the past 17+ years. Some of his favorite things to do were cooking with his wife, endless conversations with his sons, gardening, fishing and reading. Visitation with be held at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS 66215 on Saturday, May 10th at 12 noon with Memorial Service beginning 1pm.
