RICHARD D.J. (DICK) ST. CLAIR Obituary
RICHARD D.J. (DICK) ST. CLAIR Richard D.J. St. Clair (Dick), 74, passed away peacefully at home on May 12, 2014. A celebration of his life will be on Saturday, May 24, at 11:00 a.m., at the Church of the Resurrection in the Wesley Chapel, 13720 Roe Ave., Leawood, KS 66224. Dick was very proud to be an American and of his service to his country and community. After serving in the Air Force, Dick began a distinguished career with the Federal Aviation Administration garnering the respect of communities and government, and numerous commendations, before being chosen to lead a special task force under the Ronald Reagan administration. When Dick retired from the government, he began a second, and favorite, career with Webster University. During his 35 years at Webster, Dick was highly regarded as a master teacher who transformed students, and as a servant leader who helped many faculty to become better teachers. He pioneered distance learning at Webster University, and many of the guiding principles he established are still used today. He will be missed by all who knew him, and by all whose lives were changed, because he cared to use his talents to help others make a difference. Dick is survived by Cathy, his wife of 28 years, Richard Jr (Tari, Ashlie, Tylor), Torii (John, Anthony, David), Tifani, Traci (Jaxon), Kristen (John, Margot, Vance, EJ, Georgia). In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care, 10100 W. 87th St., Suite 100, Overland Park, KS 66212. Porter Funeral Homes and Crematory
