1928 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
1928 - 2014 Richard Denise died in his sleep of heart failure in the early hours of May 16, 2014. Richard, a longtime resident of Lake Tapawingo, was born in La Grange, Illinois June 18, 1928 to Garet and Elsie Denise. He graduated from high school in Webster Groves, MO. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers in Korea as an officer responsible for maintaining heavy equipment. He earned a Bachelor's Degree from the Rolla School of Mines (now the Missouri University of Science and Technology), and a Master's Degree from Purdue University. He was a metallurgist, a machinist, a welder, a carpenter, an architect, a salesman, an engineer, a construction supervisor, a tinkerer, and a solver of problems. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, and Toastmasters International. He enjoyed flying, canoeing, camping, and volunteering through his church. Many are the Church Camps that are better off from his efforts. He was an active member of Chapel Hill Presbyterian community. He loved life, and was loved by those around him. He is survived by his wife, Sally; his companion for nearly 65 years, along with two sisters, five children, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. His Memorial Service will be held at Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church, Blue Springs, MO on May 24, 2014. Visitation at 10:00 am, Service at 11:00 am. Cremation. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions in Richards name to the Memorial Fund at Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church.
