CHARLES S. 'CHARLIE' CROCKER Charles S. Crocker, 84, of Parkville, MO, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014. He was born February 13, 1930 to Fred Harvey and Martha 'Mattie' (Smith) Crocker in Owensboro, KY. Charlie served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. In his younger years, Charlie belonged to the KC Boys Club and Golden Gloves. He enjoyed bowling on a league at NKC Pro Bowl and watching the Kansas City A's play baseball. His hobbies included playing checkers, fishing, ping pong, cards, and watching the KC Chiefs play football. Charlie was married to Gertrude Geiselhart for over 30 years; she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a son, Charlie Crocker, both parents, four sisters: Marie, Irene, Lois and Margie; and three brothers: Fred 'Harvey' Jr., Johnny, and Harold 'Pete' Crocker. Survivors include his children: Doris Claspill (Darrel) of Clinton, MO; Dennis Day (Bonnie Robb) of Kansas City (North), MO; Elisabeth Crocker of Parkville, MO and Steven Crocker (Georgette) of Kansas City (North), MO; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, James 'Jimmy' Crocker of Gladstone, MO. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville, MO. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the chapel with Pastor Rand Millich as the Officiant. Burial will immediately follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Federation of the Blind or NorthCare Hospice.
